When does each Drupal version reach end of life?

End of life, by major version.

Security support attaches to the minor branch you are running.

The date your site stops receiving security fixes is set by the minor branch you are on. Each minor version is supported for one year: bug and security fixes for the first six months, security fixes only for the last six. Older branches lose coverage as newer ones ship, so a major version's end-of-life date and the date your own site goes uncovered can be months apart. Your version is under Reports → Status report in the Drupal admin.

Drupal 11 has no published end-of-life date.

Searches for “drupal 11 end of life” are looking for a date that does not exist yet. Drupal 11's support window is pinned to a later release instead of a calendar date. The 11.3.0 release notes state that Drupal 11 is supported until the release of Drupal 13, and drupal.org has published no release date for Drupal 13.

The policy sets a floor. Drupal's core release cycle policy states that each major version is supported for a minimum of four years, until the release of two further major versions, and that major versions are only supported while their key dependencies' versions are supported. Two further majors after Drupal 11 means Drupal 13. The four-year minimum counted from Drupal 11's release on 2 August 2024 puts the earliest possible date in August 2028 — a floor implied by policy, not a published date.

Drupal 12 is scheduled for the week of 7 December 2026, with a beta in the week of 14 September 2026 and a release candidate in the week of 9 November 2026. That is a release date. No end-of-life date has been published for Drupal 12 either.

1. When is Drupal 10 end of life?

   Drupal 10 reaches end of life on 9 December 2026, according to the Drupal.org core release schedule. No releases follow that date. Within Drupal 10, only the 10.6 branch still carries security coverage up to it; 10.5 and earlier stopped receiving security support in the week of 29 June 2026.

2. When is Drupal 11 end of life?

   drupal.org has published no end-of-life date for Drupal 11. The release notes state that Drupal 11 is supported until the release of Drupal 13, and no release date for Drupal 13 has been published. Drupal's policy sets a floor: a minimum of four years, which counted from Drupal 11's release on 2 August 2024 puts the earliest possible date in August 2028. That figure is a floor implied by policy, not a published date.

3. When did Drupal 8 reach end of life?

   Drupal 8 reached end of life on 17 November 2021. The date moved: an advisory in June 2021 announced 2 November 2021, driven by Symfony 3 reaching its own end of life, and the confirming advisory in November 2021 states that as of 17 November 2021 the Drupal 8 series had reached end of life. 17 November 2021 is the date drupal.org carries today.

4. When is Drupal 10.6 end of life?

   Security support for the Drupal 10.6 branch ends when Drupal 12.0.0 and Drupal 11.5.0 release, which the Drupal.org core release schedule dates as the week of 7 December 2026 rather than as a single day. Drupal 10.6.0 is the last minor release of Drupal 10. Drupal 10 itself reaches end of life on 9 December 2026, a day inside that same week.

5. Which Drupal versions still receive security updates?

   As of 30 August 2026, security coverage runs on the Drupal 11.4 and 11.3 branches and on the Drupal 10.6 branch. Drupal 7, 8 and 9 have all passed end of life. Drupal 10.5 and earlier, and Drupal 11.2 and earlier, stopped receiving security support in the week of 29 June 2026, so a site can be on a supported major version and an unsupported minor one.

6. When is Drupal 12 released?

   The Drupal.org core release schedule puts the Drupal 12 release in the week of 7 December 2026, with a beta in the week of 14 September 2026 and a release candidate in the week of 9 November 2026. That is the release date. drupal.org has published no end-of-life date for Drupal 12.
