A fiat-to-crypto product that had to stay easy through repeated hyper-growth.
Ramp Network's core product turns fiat into crypto and back, powering the on/off-ramps that wallets, DeFi protocols, and web3 apps build on. Making that experience feel simple to an end user, while the underlying infrastructure scaled through multiple capital raises and rapid growth phases, was the standing brief WAYF worked against.
UX redesign, brand development, and engineering, as one continuous advisory relationship.
WAYF worked in close collaboration with Ramp's core team on a strategic overhaul of the product's user interface, aimed at improving engagement and functionality. That design work sat alongside brand development and software engineering, with WAYF's role extending into continuous advisory support through various stages of the product's evolution.
Software engineering was pivotal in sustaining the product through its rapid hyper-growth phases, across multiple capital raising rounds — the engineering side carried as much weight as the design side.
Two co-founders, out of research and BCG analytics, building the rails crypto needed.
Szymon Sypniewicz co-founded Ramp Network after serving as Director of Research at Adrianople Group. Przemek Kowalczyk, co-founder and CEO, came from advanced analytics and machine learning at Boston Consulting Group, and co-founded Blockchain Hub Warsaw; he built Ramp after a failed 2017 Ethereum project revealed how broken fiat-to-crypto UX was at the time. Together they have raised $134M+ from Mubadala, Balderton, Korelya, NfX, and Galaxy Ventures.
You played an enormous part in the success of BOA [...]. You all have shown a high level of technical skills, ownership, and focus throughout your time on the team, without you, a lot of our achievements wouldn't be possible. It was a pleasure to work with so responsible and independent people.
Record-breaking growth for Ramp's product, carried through multiple raises on the same design and engineering partnership.
Through multiple capital raising rounds, WAYF's integrated approach to product design and development played a key role in achieving record-breaking growth for Ramp's product.
